Dennis Rattie

President

Dennis is President at Tarragon and brings with him over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. He joined Tarragon in 2000 and is actively involved with Tarragon’s development, finance, construction, and leasing teams to ensure overall project and company success. Since 1995, Tarragon has been one of the most active and influential real estate developers in the Puget Sound region. Tarragon delivers diverse projects including Industrial, Mixed-Use, Multi-Family, and Retail.

Dennis has long been committed to serving the community, and he is involved with a variety of non-profits and organizations throughout the Puget Sound region. He believes in the power of stewardship, taking the time to actively support the communities where Tarragon’s projects reside and where he lives.

Dennis earned his bachelor’s in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He is an active member and supporter of NAIOP, Urban Land Institute (ULI), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, skiing, attending sports events (Go Dawgs!!!), and drinking an occasional Coors Light.

Dave Henline

Senior Director of Construction

Dave joined Tarragon in 2006 and contributes over 40 years of construction industry experience to the development team. His passion for building started in his youth as a teenager framing houses for United Homes in 1977. Dave has extensive site development expertise and has constructed thousands of multi-family and residential units in high-rise urban and suburban environments. Dave also has significant experience developing office, medical and retail projects. At Tarragon, he oversees the site operations and the execution of suburban land development and multi-family projects throughout Tarragon’s portfolio.

Dave is a graduate from the University of Washington in Construction Management. Originally from Auburn, he is active in the local Sumner community and is involved with the American Cancer Society fundraising efforts. His passions outside of work include snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, and paragliding.

Mark Enebrad

Senior Director of Land Development

Mark Enebrad joins Tarragon as Senior Director of Land Development. Mark previously worked for Brookfield Properties where he had various roles on the Tehaleh Master Plan Community project in Pierce County for the last ten years. Through his experience there, he has obtained an extensive background in master plan design, entitlements/permitting, and site construction. Mark holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Washington State University. In his free time, Mark enjoys cooking, fishing, golfing, skiing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Ben Waiss

Director of Development

Ben began his professional career as a Civil Engineer, but after five years in the industry, he realized his lifelong passion was commercial real estate and made the switch. He joined Tarragon where he was able to leverage his engineering background while simultaneously gaining experience in many other aspects of the development process.

Ben is currently focusing on Industrial Development in Pierce and Lewis County and has experience with suburban multi-family and single-family master-planned communities. He appreciates the holistic involvement in the development process that he gets in the CRE industry and feels that involvement is incredibly genuine at Tarragon.

Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. He is an active member of NAIOP and previously held the Chair of the South Sound Committee. In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with his family swimming, camping, chasing dinosaurs and monsters, as well as golfing, basketball, kiteboarding, house renovations, and keeping his roses alive.

Teresa Buxton

Controller

Teresa joined Tarragon in 2011 as Controller and is responsible for the financial oversight of the company. In this role, Teresa partners with our investment and property management partners to ensure projects are capitalized and smoothly transitioned to operations. She also helps shape the vision of the company’s leadership into a cohesive financial strategy that reflects Tarragon’s mission and values.

Teresa earned her bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting at the University of Washington and has her CPA. You’re likely to find Teresa enjoying the outdoors in her spare time, whether it be in the city or the mountains, and shopping at local boutiques and farmers markets. She’s a long-time lover of travel and has been to over 17 countries!

Mandy Bender

Director of Contracts

Mandy oversees Tarragon’s Contracts Department and provides legal and business expertise in the evaluation, drafting, negotiation, and execution of development, design, construction, and other related agreements. In addition, she provides legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to all levels of the organization regarding contractual risk, state/federal regulatory safety requirements, and various other business matters.

Before Tarragon, Mandy spent five years in the public sector at the University of Washington in the Capital Projects Office and four years at Starbucks Coffee Company as a Leasing Analyst. Mandy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. Mandy is a member of the Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association and frequently provides pro bono legal assistance to local small business owners in commercial landlord/tenant-related matters.

Originally from Seattle, Mandy is an avid Huskies, Seahawks, Mariners, and Kraken fan and is especially looking forward to the day the SuperSonics return to Seattle. Mandy enjoys trying out local breweries and restaurants and spending time with friends and family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Danielle McIntyre

Director of Operations

Danielle oversees Tarragon’s day-to-day operations and serves as the interface between the company’s administrative, accounting, development, and marketing teams. In addition to driving Tarragon’s operational efficiency, Danielle plays a lead role in the firm’s talent management and leadership development programs.

Danielle has extensive executive support and managerial experience. Before joining Tarragon in 2015, Danielle worked as an executive assistant at Oliver McMillan, a private real estate development firm based in San Diego, where she provided essential support to the CEO. Before that, Danielle was the General Manager at a favorite local restaurant, Maggie Bluffs. Danielle earned her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, where she studied Criminal Justice, Sociology, and Political Science. She enjoys traveling to new places, dining out at local restaurants, and fishing with family and friends in her free time.

Katelin Carter

Director of Marketing

Katelin joined Tarragon in 2020 and has over eight years of experience in the AEC industry. She leads Tarragon’s marketing efforts and generates creative content for the firm’s print and digital channels.

Before joining Tarragon, Katelin was at HEWITT, where she served as Marketing Manager for the architecture firm. Katelin obtained her bachelor’s degree in Journalism Graphics from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She is actively involved in the real estate industry in Seattle and serves on the ULI Young Leaders Board. In addition, she is a member of NAIOP and SMPS.

Originally from Indiana, Katelin enjoys the vast landscape the PNW offers and spends as much time as she can hiking and backpacking along with running and drinking natural wine.

Diana Bashirova

Diana joined Tarragon’s multifamily team in 2024, drawn to the company’s vibrant culture, diverse portfolio across multiple asset classes, and strong ties to both the local real estate community and the University of Washington.

Originally from Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Diana earned her bachelor’s degree from Tatar State University. She began her multifamily real estate career in property operations in 2018, later transitioning to development after completing her master’s degree in real estate at the University of Washington in 2022. Prior to Tarragon, she worked for Legacy Partners and Mill Creek Residential Trust.

She is an active member of ULI Northwest and NAIOP WA. She enjoys traveling and frequents her local yoga studio.

 

Bayard Blair

Development & Acquisitions Associate

Bayard supports Tarragon’s acquisition and disposition efforts, including sourcing, negotiations, due diligence, closings, and pre-development planning. Bayard works closely with the development team, construction team, legal team, and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for each portfolio under management.

Before Tarragon, he worked for CBRE on the Pacific Northwest Multifamily Investment Sales Team, where he was responsible for financial analyses, market and submarket research, and Broker Opinion of Value’s. At CBRE, he assisted with the sale of over $4.5+ billion of transactions in Washington, Oregon, and Utah.

Bayard is a member of NAIOP WA and Urban Land Institute NW. He maintains a Washington Real Estate License and in 2020 received a Graduate Certificate in Commercial Real Estate from the University of Washington Runstad School.

Bayard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience from Whitman College (2018), where he played Division III collegiate tennis. Aside from work, Bayard enjoys tennis, biking, skiing, and hiking. In addition, he volunteers with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is Co-Chair of the CF Youth Leader’s Group.

Reed Cantrell

Reed has been in construction for five years. He has worked on various projects for the Department of Defense as a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager. Before he transitioned to Tarragon, Reed worked on podium and garden-style apartments. Reed came to Tarragon for its reputation and leadership. He loves the professional and friendly atmosphere of Tarragon.

Reed earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Western Washington University. He enjoys anything outside, especially hiking, dirt biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, water skiing, and sky diving.

Dave Carter

Dave began working for Tarragon in 2015, attracted to its strength of being a developer and builder that creates long-term hold quality and diverse projects. The focus of Dave’s career has been suburban multi-family. Dave continues this focus with Tarragon, managing construction of their garden-style projects in Pierce and Kitsap Counties. Dave enjoys people. At Tarragon, it is all about people, from the investors and product users to the co-workers and consultants/contractors Tarragon works with. Each person is given the utmost value and respect.

Dave earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Washington. He started his career with hands-on construction, building homes with his father. He spent about ten years as a field superintendent for smaller developers/builders, then transferred his skills to project management.

Dave enjoys being a part of the community. He participates and volunteers in activities with NAIOP and Catholic Community Services. He loves being on the move, doing at least one of his favorite activities daily; running, biking, swimming, alpine skiing, taking his dog out for walks, or playing with his kids.

Steph Christianson

Marketing Manager

Steph joined Tarragon to expand her marketing knowledge and expertise further. She assists in all aspects of internal and external marketing and event planning. Steph enjoys the collaboration at Tarragon and the broad range of experience among her coworkers. She also appreciates the number of women in leadership and the opportunity for the growth that Tarragon offers.

Steph obtained her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND. Steph is a member of The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), a diverse community of marketing and business development professionals working together to move the A/E/C industries forward. Steph enjoys reading, traveling, cuddling with her cat, watching soccer, biking, and hiking in the Pacific Northwest in her free time.

Keith Comery

Site Operations Manager

Keith began working in the carpentry and construction industry in the early ’80s receiving his apprenticeship training and education through community college and on-the-job training. He has worked for Tarragon in several capacities and is now the Site Operations Lead for our multi-family projects around Puget Sound. Keith enjoys the foundational work in his projects, including site preparedness and development and the one-on-one collaboration with his subs and inspectors.

Keith is from the coast of Washington and is actively involved in his community. He has served on his HOA committee as the architectural chair and is always happy to share his gardening expertise. In addition, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and hunting. Keith is a Seattle Seahawk season ticket holder and an avid sports enthusiast.

Nick Conrad

Development Accountant

Nick joined Tarragon from the Washington State Auditor’s Office, where he managed $75M+ in federal grants to the City of Seattle. Tarragon is his first step into the Real Estate world professionally, but he comes from a very construction-heavy family and has always been interested in the industry. Nick assists with a variety of properties that include industrial and multifamily residential.

Nick likes to unwind by watching TV, going to the movies, and playing chess or video games. He also likes to keep active by going to the gym, skiing, and playing pickup basketball.

McKayla Dear

Land Development Manager

McKayla began her career in real estate development in 2016, driven by a passion for sustainability, community planning, and project execution. She enjoys the collaborative efforts between governing agencies, sub-consultants, and local communities to bring master-planned communities to life and leave a lasting impact on those communities.

McKayla holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington, where she studied Environmental Science and Resource Management with a focus on Urban Planning. She also earned a Master of Science in Environmental Planning and Management from Johns Hopkins University. In her free time, you’ll find McKayla skiing or hiking in the Cascades or enjoying a local brewery with friends and family.

George Esau

George joined the Tarragon team in 2022 and is working on a variety of industrial projects across the Pacific Northwest.

Originally from Orono, Minnesota, George graduated from the University of Washington, with a Bachelor’s in Economics and History and a Master’s in Real Estate. While at UW, he was captain of the National Champion Men’s Rowing Team.

George is currently active in NAIOP and CoreNet WA. Outside of work, George enjoys cooking, fishing, and hiking.

Matt Farrell

Senior Development Manager

Matt has over ten years of real estate experience. He started his career at CBRE as a Research Analyst, then transitioned to Tarragon after completing a dual master’s degree in Real Estate and an MBA. Matt chose Tarragon because it feels like a small company, but it has a significant impact in the region. He loves the intimacy of working with a tight-knit group of people to provide meaningful improvements in cities and markets that are often overlooked. Matt manages multifamily developments all over the region, including King, Pierce, Kitsap, and Thurston counties.

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in Management from Brigham Young University and his MBA and master’s in real estate from Cornell University. He is an active member of NAIOP WA and volunteers several hours each week at his local church. Matt likes to explore the Pacific Northwest with his wife and five children in his free time. He also loves backpacking and distance running.

Richard French

Richard began working in the construction industry in high school and later joined the Carpenter’s Union, where he worked for over ten years building residential homes. He now currently works on Tarragon’s multi-family projects in the Puget Sound region as Site Operations Associate.

Richard’s love of the industry carries into his personal life. He can often be found doing various home improvement projects around his house.

Ricky Hewson

Ricky Hewson was drawn to Tarragon for its dynamic company culture and their exciting range of projects. With over a decade of experience in civil construction, Ricky now focuses on land development, working on Uplands and providing support for Plateau 465 and Perkins Prairie.

Ricky enjoys the hands-on nature of his work, from overseeing construction operations to collaborating with teams on complex projects. His career has been built on a strong foundation of project management, estimating, and heavy equipment operations.

When he’s not on the job, Ricky loves spending time outdoors with his wife and four kids. Whether cheering them on at their sporting events, hitting the slopes for snowboarding, or exploring new hiking trails, he’s always up for an adventure with his family.

Noelan Brewington-Janssen

Noelan joined Tarragon in 2021, attracted by the opportunity to gain experience across multiple product types and be part of the Tarragon team. He currently works on Multi-family and Industrial projects in Pierce and Thurston Counties. Noelan enjoys working with people to solve problems, all while working towards improving the community.

Noelan received his Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of San Francisco and his Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Washington. Before entering real estate, he worked in e-commerce in Shanghai, San Francisco, and Amsterdam.

Outside of work, Noelan is involved in ULI Northwest and NAIOP WA. On the weekends, he can be found in the mountains, reading or playing music.

Pete has over 15 years of experience in general and civil construction and commercial building remodeling. He joined Tarragon in 2021 and works on their multi-family projects in the Puget Sound Region. He loves the process of building and creating housing that improves the surrounding communities.

Pete obtained his Carpentry Certificate from Bates Technical College. In his free time, Pete enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, a good bourbon, playing guitar, and a round of golf.

Gayle Kawaguchi

Gayle has over 17 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry. Gayle currently works on corporate AP/AR, billing and assists the Development Accountants on multifamily projects. She enjoys helping her team out and seeing Tarragon’s projects progress throughout each phase of the project.

John began working in construction in 2020, driven by interests in sustainable building and construction. John enjoys the dynamic of working for an owner-builder, allowing for more involvement in the development and design phases of construction.

John earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington, where he studied Construction Management. He worked for Hensel Phelps a little over a year before transitioning to Tarragon. John is LEED GA accredited, looking to obtain LEED AP standing, harmonious with his interest in sustainable building and design. Aside from construction, John enjoys hiking, piano, and reading.

Bill Miller

Land Maintenance Manager

Bill began working in operations and property management in 1996 for the City of Des Moines and the Peninsula Metropolitan Park District for nearly 20 years combined. He also has 15 years of experience in commercial and residential construction. Bill enjoys the team concept that Tarragon represents and hopes to contribute in every way possible.

Bill has achieved certifications in maintenance, risk assessment, and resource management. He has also written safety protocols in equipment operations and property maintenance.

Born and raised in Tacoma, Bill and his wife Leslie now call Olalla home. When not working, you will find Bill hanging out with his beautiful family on the boat, on the water, or doing anything outdoors. He also enjoys working on the family wedding venue, Sunflower Farms, or finding something to remodel.

Brenda Montgomerie

Brenda is a versatile professional with proficiency in multiple areas of business operations with years of experience in accounting, analysis, financial forecasts, and financial modeling. Brenda appreciates team collaboration and sharing knowledge with co-workers.

She enjoys working in real estate development because it promotes creativity and problem solving throughout the project’s lifecycle.  Brenda has been part of successful teams constructing garden court apartments, industrial projects, and single-family residential plats.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys being outside in nature. She can also be found in the kitchen trying out new recipes and reading books on her latest topic of interest.

Mikala Naoe

Mikala joined Tarragon in 2022, hoping to expand her hands-on experience in the Development and Construction Industry. Mikala assists our Director of Operations in overseeing the day-to-day functions of our Seattle Office. Mikala enjoys interacting with different departments where she can learn all aspects of a project and job.

Mikala went to Santa Monica College in Los Angeles, CA., where she studied Business Administration. She interned with Balfour Beatty Construction and later transitioned to an on-site Project Administrator for a Hawaii Based General Contractor in Kauai, HI.

Being surrounded by the sun her whole life, Mikala enjoys the gloomy-cold weather that Seattle offers. Aside from work, she loves hiking (rain or shine), going to local farmer’s markets, and exploring new cities.

Sam joined Tarragon in 2024, inspired by Tarragon’s message of investing for the long term. She assists the President with his day-to-day and steps in to help manage the Seattle office as needed.

Sam earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington, where she studied Communication, Diversity, and English Writing. She earned her paralegal certificate from Edmonds College and formerly worked in estate planning at a local law firm.

Sam is a lifelong resident of Washington State. Outside of the office Sam can be found cheering on Seattle’s local NHL team, the Kraken, attending concerts with friends, or staying in for a movie night with her cat, Alaska.

Chad Purdue

Chad joined Tarragon in 2022 with an interest in developing numerous communities across the Puget Sound region. Chad works closely with the Land Development Team on Master Planned Communities. Development is a passion of Chad’s; he enjoys the collaboration of all the different stakeholders within a project and seeing a project come to life through its multiple phases.

Chad previously worked at Pulte Homes of Washington as a Division Product Manager. Through his experience there, he obtained a solid background in single-family and multi-family product planning, permitting, and construction coordination. Chad received his bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Washington.

Aside from work, Chad spends most of his free time enjoying the nuances of fatherhood with his little girl. He is a sports enthusiast and a lifelong fan of the Mariners, Huskies, and Seahawks.

Lou Robinson

Construction Coordinator

Lou has been with Tarragon for 12+ years because she loves the people, energy, and watching the growth and development within the industry. At Tarragon, Lou provides administrative support and coordination to the Development and Construction Departments. In addition, Lou obtained her Real Estate License in 2016 and has built and remodeled several personal residences.

Lou is actively involved in community events, such as ‘Come Walk With Me,’ A Susan G Komen yearly event in Sumner, Making Strides of Seattle, and the American Cancer Society. In addition, Lou is a member of the Tacoma Pierce Country Association of Realtors.

Originally from the Sumner/Puyallup area, Lou is a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks and is a season ticket holder. You can find Lou playing in her adult co-ed softball team (The Silver Bullets) or working out in her free time. Lou also enjoys entertaining, traveling, meal prepping, cooking, and being outside.

Grahm Satterwhite

Senior Development Manager

Grahm has over 15 years of experience in the development industry. He worked as a consultant for developers and a City Planner across the table from the development team. Having worked in multiple non-owner roles of a development team has provided invaluable experience before joining Tarragon.

He is currently working on multi-family projects with unique entitlement challenges. He respects the long-term perspective Tarragon takes on their projects.

Grahm earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from San Jose State University. He is an active member of ULI and recently completed the 2020 ULI Next cohort. Outside the office, you can find Grahm at Husky Stadium on Saturdays in the fall, on the water, or in the mountains in the summer, and hanging out with friends and family. He has a 4-year-old boy, a newborn daughter, and Doberman/German Shepard mix that keep any “downtime” plenty busy and entertaining.

Jake Self

Jake joined Tarragon in 2023, motivated to work on a diverse range of commercial real estate projects across the Pacific Northwest. As a member of the industrial and commercial team, he supports the development of big-box industrial warehouses, small-bay flex products, and multi-tenant retail centers. Before joining Tarragon, Jake worked in industrial real estate brokerage in southern Puget Sound.

Originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Jake relocated to the Seattle area and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Washington State University. Outside of work, he is actively involved in ULI Northwest and NAIOP WA, with personal interests in golfing, running, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Brock Strande

Brock joined Tarragon in 2023 as a Development Intern while completing his graduate degree at the University of Washington. Upon graduation, he transitioned into a full-time position as a Development Associate working on multifamily projects across Puget Sound. Before Tarragon, Brock worked at his family’s construction company building custom homes in Montana. Brock brings extensive construction knowledge to the development team and enjoys the interdisciplinary nature of real estate development.

Brock holds a Bachelor of Science in Business specializing in marketing from Montana State University and a Master of Science in Real Estate specializing in development from the University of Washington. In his free time, Brock enjoys traveling, cycling, and exploring the rainforests of Washington.

Dave Uhron

Dave began in the construction business at a very young age, helping his father build houses in the summertime.  He now is Senior Site Operations Manager at Tarragon, working on their garden style projects in the Puget Sound Region.

Born and raised in Tacoma, Dave enjoys anything outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing, and exploring in his Jeep with friends and family.

Sterling Wagner

Development Associate

Sterling joined the Tarragon team in 2024, drawn by the company’s track record of successful projects and its commitment to long-term visions. With a passion for commercial real estate, Sterling is excited to work on various industrial projects across the Pacific Northwest region.

Sterling grew up outside Minneapolis but moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend Gonzaga University. He graduated with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2020 and worked as a project engineer for Turner Construction. As his interest in the industry deepened, he pursued a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Washington.

In his free time, Sterling enjoys spending time outdoors with a lifelong love of skiing, as well as biking, tennis, and hockey.

Seth Warren

Development Accounting Supervisor

Seth has over 20 years of accounting experience. Seth’s immediate draw to Tarragon was its atmosphere and the people. He appreciates the unmatched energy of the organization and working with amazing coworkers. Seth primarily works on garden-style apartments and townhomes in Kitsap County. Previously at Vulcan, Seth spent the first part of his career helping reshape the South Lake Union neighborhood.

Seth earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Washington University. He volunteers in his community from time to time and loves spending time with family, whether it’s watching tv or something more active, such as boating, camping, and hiking.

Tim Werfelmann

Construction Manager

Tim brings 10+ years of construction experience to Tarragon. His current focus is on multifamily, garden-style communities. Tim returned to Tarragon after being previously employed in 2018 because of the company culture and the entrepreneurship and diversity of its portfolio.

Tim graduated from Washington State University with a degree in architecture. He has participated in several community organizations by providing design consultation for the Federal Way Community Garden Foundation and serving as an AmeriCorps member at Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity.

Tim enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and working out in his free time.

Tricia has over 20 years of accounting experience in the real estate development industry. She was attracted to Tarragon because she wanted to build communities, not just another building. Tricia works on multi-family projects in the greater Puget Sound region and build-to-suite lots in the Pierce County area.

She enjoys working at Tarragon because of the team, the intricacies of the building process, and knowing she is helping to create someone’s home. Tricia earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University.

Community Engagement

We live, work, and play in the communities we create. Over the years, we have supported numerous local organizations in those communities. To further our commitment to improving the quality of life in those areas, we integrate a Charitable Gift Matching Program, encouraging our employees to support their local communities. In 2021, we launched our Community Engagement program, where project teams establish a plan to participate in a community event or sponsorship in the city or county of their team’s project.
